Livestream regardless of Career
Livestreaming is an interaction with the computer that’s available to a sim in rank 7 of the eSports branch of the Tech Guru career. If pushed to its limit it can generate an aberrant amount of money; that up there is the result of an eight-hour session. Here’s how it works: when you’re livestreaming, every now and then you get a donation.
Donations are proportional to how many fans you. You start with zero fans, and the amount increases the more you livestream. The amount you get is a function of how many fans you have more fans, more per donation.
How many donations you get per hour is random but also a function of how many fans you have — until you reach one million fanswhich flips a switch and you start getting one donation per in-game minute.
Per minute. Fan increase through livestreaming is dreadfully slow. There is one way to get lump sums of fans, and that is by winning videogame tournaments. Tournaments become available as you progress the Video Gaming skill — the best way to play them is to be Very Focused, max VG skill and just have your Sim play a bunch of hours in the game they are competing at. Once you know all of that, the strat is very simple. Enter Professional Tournament for Hillock II you are going to lose some, more so at the beginning; keep going and livestream for a minute or two just to get the notification telling how many fans you.
Ridiculous, ridiculous profit. For extra monies, take the Professional Slacker trait and never go back to work you need to still have the job to be able to Livestream.
I like to call that a «sponsorship contract with a built-in zero-hour clause». While this is pretty damn profitable, it still feels like selling paintings is better, quicker and doesn’t need nearly as much work. It’s honestly pretty ridiculous and it’s my favorite go-to money maker when I’m trying to do challenges without using a single cheat. Not saying that your guide is useless. Just commenting over the fact that painting still feels like it’s a faster and more effective way to get rich ASAP.
I am getting a kid in the family very soon, and I will make him a painter for the sake of comparison. I have the rough stats in terms of in-game hours, profitability per day and week, and so on. There is a little caveat — my sim did not have any traits streamlined for the career, so if you want to take a sim who’s not designed and make them a money machine, Live stream might edge.
I’ll only know when I’m done with actually going through the tests. I never managed to get that much money from livestreaming and I had a Sim do it constantly. Which was a lot still, definitely a job in and of. He saved our family from having the power shut off quite a few times lol.
It is the million-fan mark that really makes it. It takes for freaking ever to break it; most people give up on it, because they try to brute force it by putting endless hours in Livestreaming directly. I think i might try this with one of the kids in my second generation- start them on the gaming early and maybe it won’t be quite as long of a grind.
Ive always wanted to explore this career option. Thanks for the breakdown! Here’s something that might be worth it, then: getting the Connections reward trait early on. One of the hard caps in terms of time is getting to level 7 Tech Guru, because tournaments won before the Livestream option is unlocked do not increase the number of fans. It’s so goddamn broken, it sometimes feels like I am using cheats.
