My relationship with money was probably a lot like many others. Like many kids, I would ask for a lot of things. Like everything. Or whatever crap I wanted. I want my kids to have a more reasoned relationship with money. The book club has 9 books, all relatively short and meant for kids, and comes with an implementation guide that helps teach these concepts. I thought it would be fun if I read the books with my oldest, who is 5, and see what he thought of them. As a bit of background, he loves books but mostly the ones where you look at things. We enjoy looking for goldbug , Waldo , and the changing of the seasons esp.

Oh and of course this gem. The story talks about a young child, his mother and grandmother, saving coins into a jar after work. They were saving up for a chair because they’d lost everything in a previous house fire. The community rallied around them to help, donating many of the things they needed, and they were saving up to buy a chair. They would eventually fill up the jar of coins, buy a chair, and have a chance to enjoy it. He enjoyed the story but I could tell it was a little more complex and the fire part was a little scary.

This is a solid effort that illustrates how to educate one’s children in the ways of money. The author covers specific topics in each chapter and, within each chapter, breaks it down into age ranges.

For example, in chapter Hard Work Pays—she discusses how research has established that «hard work, achieving personal goals, and enjoying the satisfaction that comes with the mondy are the key to a happy life mmoney that pampering kids and not making them do anything will be detrimental to their development.

Later in the chapter, she has sections on preschool, elementary school, middle school, high momey, college and young adulthood. This enables the parent of a child of such-and-such an age to quickly find out mony to talk to that child in an understandable way. Although the book maje easy to read and understand and the author can be amusing at times, I found it best to read the book in stages.

If you have children in middle school, you might be interested in—but not very enthused about—reading sections on preschool, kic school, college. You want the information, but not all in genijs big gulp. Good book. I loved this book. It was easy to read not boring at all. I wouldnt suggest reading it all at once since there is so much information. I cant wait to put what i read to use. I had a book report in one of my classes and there are several aspects are great.

I could go into detail but really this book is for you. Or a unique gift idea for a genous shower. I definitely recommend this book. Get this book and learn how to mke your children healthy attitudes toward money. They’re not too young. I flagged all the areas for my child’s current age group and have started applying some of the suggestions. So far so good. Bought the book for my son and grandson. I am half way through reading kif and already can conclude it kud very well worth buying.

Wish I had this book many years ago. Should be part of school curriculum. Got some useful ideas for myself and approached the suggestions in booi book which were appreoved by my kids. Highly recommend this book probably for yojr or intermediate people who are on their way to learn finance regardless the cause. There is really good content in this book, that being said it was hard for me to get through this book.
